Boat demolition & Disposal

Vessels may require demolition for many reasons, including deterioration, fire or storm damage, abandonment, or damage sustained during a marine casualty. Whenever possible, vessels are recovered and transported to an appropriate location for demolition and disposal. In some cases, a vessel may be too damaged, deteriorated, large, or heavy to be hauled away in one piece. When that happens, the vessel may need to be dismantled at or near the boat ramp before it can be removed.

Safety for our crew and the surrounding environment is a priority throughout every project. Prior to demolition, fuel, oil, and other petroleum products are removed from the vessel and secured in appropriate drums for proper handling and disposal. When demolition takes place near the water, containment boom, debris barriers, absorbent materials, and other appropriate measures may be used to help contain debris and reduce the risk of pollutants entering the surrounding water.
